Dr. Bashir is an associate professor in the school of nursing and a practicing dual board-certified adult gerontology and psychiatric nurse practitioner. She is a proud Salem State University alumni and attained both her Master’s degree in nursing and a Doctorate degree in nursing practice from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Dr. Bashir has an extensive clinical background in various healthcare environments, including military service as a combat medic in the US Army during Operation Iraq Freedom and the Air Force Reserves.
Dr. Bashir’s professional interests include; population health, mental global health/medical outreach, wellness, chronic disease management, and health care quality measures.
Currently coordinates the Graduate MSN Program and teaches courses in the adult gerontological primary care nurse practitioner program; advanced health assessment, population health and policy and adult and gerontological practicum.
