Carla has been the writing coordinator for TRIO Student Support Services for the past 10 years. In a supportive and enthusiastic environment, she assists students in all stages of the writing process in a variety of disciplines and strives to create an academic community of critical thinkers and confident writers. Prior to her time at Salem State, she lived in Japan for two years teaching English and continued teaching ESL to students and adults from very diverse backgrounds upon her return to the United States. Carla holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Connecticut, Master’s in Technical and Professional Writing from Northeastern University, and an MAT in ESL from Salem State.
