Professional Biography

Ian Wong's career reflects a lifelong commitment to public health and higher education, marked by leadership, innovative initiatives, and extensive contributions to the field. His experience spans directing the Student Wellness CARE program at Salem State University, health promotion efforts at Tufts University, leading statewide opioid prevention initiatives at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and advising local boards through public health crises.

Most recently, Ian served as the Deputy Director of Public Health for the City of Worcester, Massachusetts. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Worcester State University, where he teaches Introduction to Public Health and Introduction to Global Health.

With a strong educational foundation and decades of hands-on experience, Ian has played a pivotal role in advancing health promotion, disease prevention, and community well-being. His expertise continues to shape public health and higher education initiatives at local, regional, and national levels.
