Professional Biography

Jaime Wurzel holds a doctorate degree in education from Boston University, a master’s degree in history from Columbia University, and an undergraduate degree from Brandeis University. He previously taught at Boston University. Once a social studies teacher in New York City, he presently teaches courses in intercultural relations, diversity and global education. Jaime was born in La Paz, Bolivia, and later moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is currently writing a memoir about his own experiences in Latin America. He has edited a book on multicultural education, published extensively, and produced several instructional videos about intercultural communication. He enjoys playing classical, flamenco and jazz guitar. In spring of 2015, he’s teaching EDG 705 Responding to Diversity in the Classroom, EDU 876 Global Perspectives in Cultural Diversity; EDU 256a/Parts I & II Responding to Diversity in Contemporary Secondary Schools and EDU 308 Teaching Strategies in the Multicultural Classroom.
