Terence Lynn, PhD, CAGS, LMHC is an Associate Professor of Graduate Psychology. He was previously on the faculty at The College of New Jersey in the Department of Psychology. Dr. Lynn has been on the faculty at Salem State University since 2008. Dr. Lynn has been teaching psychology for over twenty-five years. He is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts and has worked in the law enforcement, mental health, and forensic fields for over three decades. Dr. Lynn's research interests include masculinity and male identity development, police psychology, and the intersectionality of law enforcement and behavioral health. Dr. Lynn was the principal creator of the NYPD Crisis Intervention Training Program (CIT). He oversaw the psychological training for the NYPD Hostage Negotiation Team Training (HNT) at The John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He is a former police officer graduate of the MCJTC Police Academy 6590, a Graduate of the 110th NH State Police Academy, a former DEA Task Force Agent, and a Police Academy Director (NYC). Dr. Lynn has testified in over five hundred cases as an expert witness.
